What is Share Shack Ladywood?
We are a new kind of shop, where you can borrow things instead of buying, and learn and share new skills.
Opening during lockdown…
We are only open for collection of things that have been booked or reserved.
You can book things online using the Myturn site, and then collect from the shop by arrangement – email email@example.com
We are in the shop on Wednesdays between 10 and 12, and other times by appointment.
Update January 2021
Due to the current strict lockdown in the UK we are not able to lend out tools and equipment from the shop or open to the public.
We hope to be able to re open the as soon as it is safe and restrictions allow.
Meanwhile please keep in touch and join our online learning opportunities, see home page and project pages for details.
Update 29th May 2020
You’ll have seen that lots of different shops are likely to re open in mid June.
We would love to open our tool library then too, but we need to make sure that it’s as safe as possible for our customers and staff first. Because we lend items, there’s extra risk and it’s harder to make sure everything is clean and safe.
As soon as it’s safe to do so, and following government guidelines, our share library of tools and equipment will begin to open.
Keep in touch to get the latest information about opening, joining the library and borrowing things.
Update 6th April 2020
In the spirit of Share Shack, over the next few weeks we will be curating and creating a series of at-home creative projects and inviting our community to join in.
You can find the first of these here:
Please do get in touch with any suggestions or ideas you’d like to share!
Update 17th March 2020
Dear Friends and Neighbours, due to the current situation with Coranvirus we will not be opening Share Shack Ladywood as planned.
However, we will be serving as a food distribution point and community support centre over the coming weeks, in collaboration with the Active Wellbeing Society and the Real Junk Food Project Birmingham.
Please look out for updates here and information in the shop window as and when we get a clearer picture of the coming weeks activity.
Take care of each other.
Eat Make Play has teamed up with Active Communities to launch Share Shack Ladywood – a new way to shop.
Borrow things instead of buying them. Attend workshops or come and share your skills with others.
