HOLIDAY CLUB – all places now filled for summer 2021!
Places are available for 5 to 12 year olds, either in the morning or afternoon, across 4 days Monday to Thursday, and 4 weeks of the holidays from 2nd to 26th August. We will also have a trip each week that up to 30 children and siblings and parents can join in with.
We will offer arts and crafts, sports and games, music, outdoor activities, outings, food and cookery.
Activities will be based at Ladywood Methodist church hall, with outings, outdoor activities and use of arts and craft facilities at the Eat Make Play shop.
All children will have a shared healthy lunch between 12 and 1, morning groups will be given breakfast and the afternoon will have a healthy teatime snack. Packed lunches will be provided for outings.
Places will initially offered by referral from local schools and community organisations, we are looking to allocate the majority of places to families in receipt of free school meals, so we can offer support to those who need it most.

Playwork applications have now closed, thank you to everyone who applied.
We are currently building our team to provide a fun, healthy and creative programme of activities for our local families, and we are looking to fill a number of paid and unpaid Playwork roles.
All paid roles are on a sessional, self employed basis – you will need to submit a claim at the end of the project for the work you have done, and pay your own income tax and national insurance.

- Which role you want to apply for
- The days and times you’re available to work – we need staff 8.30 to 4.30 Monday to Thursday between August 2nd and 26th, but if you are available for part of this time we can arrange for the role to be shared with other team members.
- What experience, skills or qualifications you have for the role
- Any activities you’d like to bring to the programme, such as music, arts, dance, food, gardening, sports etc

Essential for all roles:
Experience of working with children and young people – this could be through paid or voluntary work or in your family life.
You must be available to work Monday to Thursday between 2nd and 26th August 2021 and able to travel to Ladywood for an 8.30am start. If you are only available some of these times and days, please let us know – you may be able to share the role with another team member.
You will need to be reliable and punctual
Enhanced DBS clearance – If you do not have a DBS dated within the last 2.5 years, we will obtain one for you prior to starting

You will need to support and follow EMPs policies on equalities, safeguarding and health and safety, ensuring all activities are safe and welcoming for our whole community
Hours: up to 30 hours per week (role can be shared or flexible) over 4 weeks
Monday to Thursday between 8.30am and 4.30pm between 2nd and 26th August 2021
Rate: £12 per hour
Duties: Working alongside the lead playworker, other playworkers and volunteers, you will:
- Help devise, set up and run activities for children aged 5-12, including art and crafts, outdoor activities, sports and games, cooking, music, free play and outings – training will be provided in specific activities and skills
- Help children to join in, feel welcome and have activities to do that they enjoy and can access
- Follow all safeguarding guidance to create a safe, nurturing, healthy setting
Rate: volunteer role, expenses such as travel and food while working will be covered
- To assist the Playworker and lead playworker as above to provide activities for children aged 5-12
